How Grail works
Trusted by church tech teams at

Your media, found in seconds

Stop digging through Finder and guessing at filenames. Search by what you remember. Grail finds it across every NAS and drive you connect.

Grail solves the hard part

Search by topic, quote, or scripture

Find last January's baptism footage by searching "baptism." Pull up a sermon clip by searching "Luke 11." Grail indexes what's inside your files, not just filenames.

Preview without downloading

See what's inside a video or photo before pulling it to your machine. No more downloading the wrong 8GB file. Browse and confirm, then grab the file path.

Your whole team gets access

Creative, pastoral, worship, and production staff all sign in with Microsoft or Google SSO. No VPN. No shared passwords. Your IT team controls who sees what.

How Grail works

Your files stay on your NAS

Nothing moves. Grail installs on a Mac Mini or Mac Studio on your network, indexes your NAS locally, and makes it searchable through your browser from anywhere.

Search sermons, B-roll, photos, and documents

Grail indexes everything on your NAS. Video, photos, PDFs, and more. Search from any browser, no VPN required.

Share with every team that needs media

Your whole staff signs in with SSO. No invite emails to chase down. Preview videos and photos from anywhere, then copy the file path when you're ready to download.

FAQs

No VPN is required. Grail enables secure access and previewing by having your network initiate an outbound connection to our AWS servers, rather than opening your NAS to the public internet. So your video team can find footage during off-site photo shoots, your creative team can edit photos at Starbucks, and you can find peace of mind from your couch.

Both are Grail plans. The difference is the hardware that powers them:

  • Grail Mini comes with a brand new Mac Mini
  • Grail Studio comes with a brand new Mac Studio (recommended for large libraries over 10 TB)

Whichever plan you choose, the Mac is yours to keep, even if you cancel Grail later. Already have a Mac Mini or Studio? Great! You can use your own instead.

You can search all your photos, videos, PDFs and more. Grail supports all file types and allows you to search across multiple NAS servers and other storage from your browser.

Up and running in 17 minutes. We ship you a Mac Mini (or Mac Studio for 10TB+ libraries). Plug it into the same network as your NAS. Run three commands. Done.

Step 1: Plug in your Mac. Connect the Mac to the same VLAN as your NAS. Make sure it has read access to your storage.

Step 2: Install Grail. Two terminal commands — install Homebrew, then install Grail. Takes under 5 minutes.

Step 3: Pair and index. Enter your pairing code from the Grail dashboard. Point at a folder. Grail starts indexing immediately.
